Just saw that CCB bottled more on Instagram. Anyone know if this one is being distributed? Same formula as the last batch?

With any wild ale there will probably be some variation. The first bottled batch was better than the first batch called Sour Guava Grove. Idk if it was brewed the same way but the b1 bottle was superb. Glad they brewed/bottled more, curious to see any differences.

Heartily disagree. The original tap version blew the other away, far far more sour. The bottled versions are not balanced, which many will like, but my
Preference is to a sour bomb.

*The bottled versions are far more balanced.

If it's not eating the enamel off my teeth, it's not sour enough.

I tried the new batch today. I was getting less guava than the last (second) batch and it just wasn't as good. It was not bad though, so I picked up a few bottles.

I agree with you about the first batch. When my friends and I tried the second batch, the fisrt thing we noticed is that it was not as sour. It is still a great beer, it just doesn't pack that sour punch as you were saying. I think the first batch may have had more time on it and the second batch they wanted to get out bc the first was so popular.

The tap batch back in September/October was so much better. I had 2 growlers of that before it was called Lacto. It was much more sour. I had a bottle of Lacto recently and it was all guava juice. Not bad, but I wouldn't even call it a sour any more.

not at all. in fact both batches have spent a ton of time in their respective tanks, way more than any other beer. even more than lagers. we don't really rush beers, especially 15bbl batches that don't have any sort of deadline or anything

I don't think they're distributing it too far from the brewery. I've seen it bottled in the tasting room and maybe one or 2 other places, but that's it. I personally prefer the batch they made prior to this one, but that doesn't mean this current one isn't good. This batch had a lot of guava flavor but isn't very sour.

If anyone from SRQ area is headed up, I wouldn't mind "trading" for a bottle or 2. I am unable to make it up that way for now... Had Guava Grove on tap a few weeks back and liked it a lot. Not as sour as I wished bust still enjoyed it. Hope this has a little more pucker.
