Sorry I can't be more help with your question. I had my last Niels about 6 months ago and thought it was dropping off quite a bit from fresh. Just one mans opinion and good luck!
This. Save your stash and track down something that hasn't fallen off, as like Erik, I was disappointed with the bottle I opened about six to eight months ago.
Thanks for the input! Let's shut this shit down, I'll stick to searching for sours for the hot vegas summer!
I had one at a tasting when it was fairly fresh and I thought it was the worst beer at the tasting (and there were plenty of bad beers), so I'd avoid if I were you.
Terrible fresh, and terrible aged. Feel free to send me a message if you want to dispose of them, I'll give you some great locals for them.
enjoyed a bottle in November of 2011. i was blown away by that beer as were the folks i shared it with, including a very accomplished 15-year+ home brewer. different strokes blah blah and whatnot but that was a seriously amazing beer.
Yeah, if it's gone downhill, I sure wish I'd had it fresh. Was a top-shelf beer for me when we had it around a month ago, I'd trade for it in a heartbeat.
agreed. i opened mine maybe a week or two ago alongside a bohr and a dirac and the neils blew the others away. that being said, i had dirac fresh on tap and was blown away...from the bottle, not as much. i still have another bohr and dirac though and look forward to opening them as i still thought they were pretty tasty.
Had it fresh and had it again this February. Preferred it fresh. I certainly won't be pursuing any more.
So much for shutting this shit down... all this talk makes be want to see for myself (been in a CCB kick lately). So anyone with a bottle what would be the price of admission?
