If they only use the malts in Tocobaga for Tocobaga, it would bump up cost too. That was a given reason for why Founders Red's Rye ( :slight_frown: ) was so expensive for them to produce, with its imported Belgian caramel malts.

I dream of the day Great Lakes Brewing distributes to Florida, but I wouldn't want it to happen if it caused their quality to suffer by rushing out additional volume. Which I feel has happened to CCB from time to time, however when Tocobaga is on point it is an exceptional ale!

Resurrecting an old thread here. Will be down in Tampa this March for my sisters wedding and my last trip down there (June 15) I was only able to try Tocobaga on tap at the brewery. I fell in love with the beer and, well, would love to be able to have cans for my week in Tampa and to share with friends. So to all the Floridians here on BA, is Tocobaga readily available in cans now? Especially in the Tampa area? Would appreciate any help here!!

It's on tap in the tasting room right now. But cans? Not sure but that's probably more because I haven't been looking for it. You can see here that CCB considers canned Tocobaga an "irregular release." I have to (as if that's such a bad thing) swing by the tasting room tomorrow and will try to remember to scout out the cooler/ask around.

You might have luck at the Lueken's near CCB. They had Toco cans as of last weekend.

I was happy to see lots of it on the shelves in Tampa last month. Very good beer.

Agreed, I appreciate the transparency, but price increases are a hard thing to get over.
