I am curious to see what the current trade value is for the rarer CCB beers... DBH, Brandy Barrel Huna, Reg. Huna, Good Gourd Almighty, and the 2013 and 2014 Catador Beer Series beers. We have multiples of each, but don't have any specific beer we are looking for at this time. Just rare stouts and sours that haven't been tried. I have been out of trading for half the year and came back to all sorts of new things. Suggestions are appreciated!
Similar beers of similar value etc etc etc. Fwiw I traded for the El cat beer from last release, eg. Iluminating the path, forgotten island, big guavino, etc. I was underwhelmed by illuminating the path and guavino, and based on that would be hesitant to trade for the El cat beers again. I traded gourd almighty for backyard rye 1:1
DB Huna was clearly the standout of the 13' release and trades very well. The other Catador 1.0 brews not so much but there has been some recent interest in Good Gourd Almighty. I don't think 110K or Amplitude got the attention they deserved because so few people actually traded them. Caffe Americano has done okay thus far. Botella hasn't been very sought after. Rum Zhukov will go gangbusters and if Leon drops again it will trade well too. I too thought ITP and Gavino were pretty bad. I enjoyed Forgotten Island but Quads aren't for everyone.
Thanks for the comments... I have heard similar regarding the catador 1.0 beers, but was just throwing it out there. Definitely more interested in the Huna variant values and what their value stands up to against the newer, trending sours and stouts.
I am doing my homework to start making my first trades. I have a bottle of Hunaphu and a couple bottles of good gourd, but have not figured out their values or what to trade for. I assume I will have to start with smaller trades, but still interested in the heavy hitters values!?
Hunahpu will fetch you a sought after comparable caliber brewery only release brew like Darkness, Dark Lord and countless other brews. Good Gourd was tough to find this year and IMO trades best in the Fall. You likely wont land any heavy hitters with them unless trading multiples. In the end, value is in the eye of the beerholder. My advice is simply to be fair and recognize that beer karma is real. Cheers...
The Hunahpu suggestions are pretty solid! I don't consider the good gourd a heavy hitter, and know what you mean. First time trade I was hoping it would intrege someone that might be interested in it along with some other cc and/or other central/south florida beers. Now I just need to figure out how to get my first trade under my belt. Thanks for the advice!
