CCBW '17

I saw Black Horizon tweet about a chocolate habanero stout being made for BUG, but running thru some other favorite breweries I couldn't get any other hints. (Black Horizon is still building out a space so there's not much else for them to focus on beer-wise.) I guess it's mostly lineup staples from the participants? Would Goose bring a sour sister, or is 312 and Green Line more likely?

 

Goose Clybourn also had a table. I forget what the other beer was, but they had BA Dark Crusader.

 

Thanks for the tips. I saw something about a special barrel tent last year that I haven't seen for this year. Regardless, if there's 100 breweries and they each bring 2-3 beers there should be plenty of options to get my 10-12 pours.

Just saw Finch will bring Plumage, Skull Hammer, and Sungasm. Looks like the CCBW twitter is best bet for any previews all in one place.

 

I bought my tickets for Ultra Fresh II today, so that's probably my one main event I'll go to for CCBW. I can't get there until about an hour after it starts, so hopefully nothing is too crazy and is gone quickly...it doesn't seem like it'd be that kind of event, but you never do know.

 

Josh Noel tweeted about it this afternoon. Since CCBW is shorter this week (it used to run through the following weekend, but this year it stops at the 25th), the Welles Park fest isn't happening at that time. But, it will still happen on August 5th apparently. I was just searching online for info about it yesterday and couldn't find anything, so his tweet was timely.

 

Question for those that have attended B.U.G. in the past. Do they hand out a listing/map of all beers when you enter? Or is it just that you walk around and see what each brewery brought?

I've seen that already, but was wondering if there is something that you get at BUG that has a list of the beers each brewery has.

 

Anyone attending anything southish? I live in sw suburbs and looking to meet up w some fellow BAers. Unfortunately my gf doesn't like beer some usually solo unless I can convince her. Gonna try to head into the city next week for a night also. Let me know. Cheers

 

Does she like drinking? Most of these places have full bars.

 

She does, I guess I was thinking going to a brewery rather than a bar but I'll take whatever I can get .

 

Anyone else at Sunday Funday yesterday? It was a great event with plenty of free beer and some pretty good food trucks. The fries from Bruges Brothers are highly recommended. Brought the wife, and we had a good time watching the dodgeball tournament too. This was our fist time at this event, and we left pretty happy.

I was super excited to finally get to try Cherry Rye. I have been trying to acquire one for a while.

 

I was there and this is the third year I went. I think it was the best they have organized the line for the timed taps as I was able to get everyone. The lines were long but they at least moved pretty quick.

 

What gems were tapped?
