I will be attending a reunion in Cedar Falls at the end of July and will have a very limited time for shopping and pub time. Looking for recommendations in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. Haven't been there since 74.
SingleSpeed Brewing has taprooms in both Cedar Falls and Waterloo. I've only been to the Waterloo location, but it had great food and the beer is also terrific. I'm at a loss for bottle shops, but usually the HyVees in the area have the best selection.
Whiskey Road, The Brass Tap, and Uncle Harry's Five & Dime. All downtown on Main Street, all have great tap lists. Lark Brewing and Second State Brewing are also located downtown. Cheers, & good luck!
I believe Lark's downtown location has been closed, but they will be re-opening at their old location soon. Their old location is between CF and Waterloo on University Ave. Worth a trip if they're open, but Singlespeed is still my favorite CF brewery. I'll second the recommendations to Whiskey Road, Brass Tap, and Uncle Harry's.
Ended up with only an hour for any activities. So I went to Happy's. Great store. Helpful staff, Good selection considering the population. They had a far greater selection than I had room to bring home. Thanks.
