    Are you sure?

Not in CP, but only about 3 miles away, in Round Rock.

Nice area but mostly a beer wasteland. The Dig Pub is a solid bar however, and Hamrick's is starting to get better on the price gouging that formerly took place. But it's definitely an area thats growing exponentially.

I'm 10-12 miles east of Ken. But, sadly not available for weekday bottle shares :slight_frown:

I am wondering if there are any cool BA's out there have little mini tastings with? Ken how far are you from 1431 and Parmer. I know none of South Austin friends would drive up there and I cant blame them, I wouldnt.

I am in north Austin...but not nearly that far north.

I would be still willing though.

I'm on Parmer/Wells Branch. Would be nice to get a NATX group going.

I'm in Cedar Park (right off 620)... II'd be down for a bottle share at some point.

Cedar Park's not a complete beer wasteland. There's a solid beer dude in CP... But I like to keep him on the DL in this forum. Although, I think word is starting to get out... The Dig is solid as well.

Austin people crack me up sometimes. "It's 15 minutes out of downtown so I'll NEVER drive up there." You guys man.

15 mins in traffic translates into about an hour trying to get to cedar park.

    i hate those roads lol

I used to live on Riverside at 71 and worked in Round Rock so I know all about the traffic. I35 in Austin is a terrible stretch of highway.

Still though if I was in Cedar Park and wanted a Don Juan I would drive my hungry ass down to Cesar Chavez and get one. Maybe that's just the Houston in me. We deal with traffic better.

I live right near the Round Rock/Cedar Park line, and drive downtown and to S. Austin all the time. It'd not that far, but Austin people like to whine that's it's " soooooo far" to drive up north.

I'm down for more "up north" tastings. I'd be happy to host some too

It is pretty insane, how people in Austin complain about driving 15 and 20 miles to do something. When I lived in Clear Lake we would drive to 59 and Gessner just to get drinks.

But I would def love to set up a few tastings when I move up there and meet some new peeps or just cab it to Dig Pub for drinks.

I also think it has to do with people just driving after drinking...and I can respect that. I would not want to drive up to Cedar Park to do a tasting if I lived downtown. You could easily do the draughthouse thanks to public transport.

But, I look like a homeless person at times, so that could explain why the homeless dont bother me on buses.

Either way, let me know of any tastings, I am up for it.

aschwab good point. I am anti Draughthouse tasting, to many people cramped around a small table and weak portions, tried to get those dudes to move it Pharas for more room and better food but no one listens to me ha. Never less when I move up there I will for sure have a welcome to CP tasting and invite everyone on this thread.
