I keep a cellar list on another website. With the glut of BC variant ISO/ft threads out there I was getting tired of posting all the bottles I had for trade. So, I just linked to the site where my cellar was located. Now those threads are being deleted. Just curious as to the "appropriate" way to do this is?
Not sure why they are being deleted but I pretty much dismiss any post where somebody posts a link to their cellar or "gots" list. Or says ISO: Wants. Sorrry, I don't have time to skim through a list of 200 beers
I have to say I also ignore cellar lists and "gots" I don't want to skim through the 100+ beers someone has. I liked Brux alright but I don't think anyone is ISO, so leave it off the list. Particularly when it is someone's FT, these types of posts to me are simply auctions and drive me crazy, just make a reasonable offer. Don't try to milk every trade for all you can get, but instead focus on what you really would like to try or what you really want to trade/share with other folks. Trading is supposed to be fun.
Yeah, I get that, and I am not trying to win trades. I was ISO what everyone else seems to be, bc variants. I was getting crickets with what I was posting FT. So instead of typing a bunch of separate ISO posts, or type every beer I would be willing to part with. The easiest way for me to accomplish this was to post a cellar link. Maybe I'm just lazy, but after a handful of posts getting quickly lost in the sea of everyone else's ISO:vanilla/prop/coffee I resorted to this, simply to save time. On a separate note, if anyone is ISO: Brux.....I got you covered
If I were you I would list a few of the bigger beers you are willing to trade for Prop/Vanilla/Coffee so people have an idea of what you have, then link the cellar at the bottom as other options. This way people see a few bottles you have that might peak their interest and then are more willing to look through a cellar list. Just my .02 GL on tracking down what you want.
