I'm sure this is a debated question and if extensive feel free to point me to the thread I just have not been able to find it on my own

What are the theories on drinking cellared brews. I remember reading it here and cannot find whatever it is I saw. I've heard drink at cellared temp, let it warm up a little etc. I'd like to hear all points of view accompanied by why and in relation to what kind of brew (ie let stouts warm up if they were stores at xx degrees etc). Thanks looking forward to responses.

Drink it however makes it taste best.

I drink my stouts a little different than you might find here on the site; I like to refrigerate them first. Then I put the glass, enjoy a little, let it warm a bit, drink some more, and eventually finish it at room temp. I do that to taste the full flavor profile. Most complex stouts will taste different at different temps. If I had to choose, I'd drink my stouts at cellar temp, around 60°

How you drink yours should be how you like it. Try your beers at different temps and see what you like.

Put them in the fridge, open when ready, and note the changes in the beer as it warms up naturally.

This is a great idea and the way my wife prefers. However, if I've had the beer before I prefer to throw it in the microwave for roughly 10 seconds. Again, this is specifically referring to stouts and only if you've already tried it the way UCLA mentioned above.
