4th Dimentia (non-BA) was phenomenal with 2 years on it. I almost wish I'd let it go another couple -- it was still a touch hot.

Old Stock is a great beer to age - great fresh but better with time. I have a 2009 I need to dust off, last one I had was off the hook.

Kuhnhenn BA4D with 2 yrs (2010 consumed in March) was one of my top 5 beers. Absolutely incredible. My friend with whom I split it cannot drink bourbon due to its burn and booziness, but remarked that this beer might be his gateway into Kentucky's finest. Very palatable at 13.5%.

smutty really old brown dog is one of my favorite beers to age, period. it makes a fantastic transformation in such a short period of time, and is really excellent at 1.5 years.

While I love Old Stock, it is a Barleywine.

Jubel 2010 is freakin fantastic, and will have the legs to go the distance IMO. Thomas Hardys and JW Lees are good too- but aren't those barleywines? I thought really old brown dog from smutty was ok- kinda like a watery rootbeer, I think it was ~5 years old.

Oh ya, well it is good nonetheless. Maybe an American Strong Ale thread is needed now . It's a couple of years old now, so it is basically an old ale...

the recipe for the beer was completely re-designed in 2008 (you obviously had the debut 2007 version). the 2007 was a 7% "old ale/double brown ale" as described by the brewer. the 2008-present incarnation is a 10-11% abv port-wine soaked oak chip old ale. its a great one to cellar. you should give it another shot if you like old ales.

Bruery Anniversary for me is the only one I bother with. With Fruet 100% -bal going into distribution this year, it should be plentiful and for me easily blows the rest of these out of the water.

Fruet was awesome, but have you had the previous anny's aged? If so, better than fresh?
