I've aged other SBPA's with success, like Don de Dieu and other fruity offerings of this style. However, I've never heard of Duvel being better with some age on it. I've always had it fresh. Good idea? Bad? It's a unique kind of flavor and I am curious if anyone has cellared Duvel with good results.

I may be the odd one out, but I love aged Duvel. I find fresh bottles are a little boozey and the flavour profile just doesn't agree with me. A few years in the bottle and everything mellows out and I love the fruity yeast character that develops.

I read an article a while ago that said the brewers themselves prefer it with a year aging. I think you can find it somewhere on beerhunter.com

Yep. A year max is the limit for me too.
