Due to the cherry harvest this year, no Cerise in 2013. While I am excited to try the Rübæus (I LOVE Blushing Monk), I am wondering if Cerise will hold up at all. Its still incredibly available.

Has anyone had any experience holding onto this one? I have only been cellaring for about a year and haven't had many fruit beers that have been aged.

Thanks for any info or wisdom.

Typically fruit fades with age, but I don't have any experience cellaring this one. You are better off saving your money for some alternative cherry beers next year.

I had a year old bottle recently. The cherry is still there but not as prominent. I wouldn't push much past a year in you enjoy the flavors fresh.

Respectfully, I suspect that one will be extremely disappointed tasting an "aged" Cerise.

Might as well buy a 4 pack now, drink 3 of them, save one for a year, and let us know how it is.

I bought one last Jan./Feb. that had been in the bottle 6-8 months. Not bad by any means. From my memory, it had plenty of cherry left, but the rest of the beer was suffering compared to fresh. To me, the underlying malt base started to deteriorate and mess with the cherry flavors a little. I'd say inside a year is ok, but outside of that, good night
