Been cellaring for awhile and just recently moved into our new place. There`s a sweet cupboard built into the wall in the basement with loads of shelf space. The problem is the back wall is shared by the heating furnace pipes so the temp is over 70F throughout.

Anybody know of a DIY way of cooler in the inside of a cupboard? Temporarily of course as during the warmer months, it won`t be an issue. Thanks in advance!

Maybe put sound proof foam or some type of insulation?

You can do that but if there's no cooling device, you're still going to see 70*F in that cupboard compartment. For my senior design project, I built a thermoelectric cooling device using peltier modules. It's pretty small, portable and cheap to get the components. If you're at least a little bit savvy with your hands you can do it. It's basically a small rectangle chip. Gets hot on one side and cold on the other. When you attache two fans to both sides, hot air blows out from one end and cold air blows out the other (obviously you would point the hot air outside the system and the cool inward).

    Check out this DIY:

He's got a couple of videos also on that account that talks about using the modules with an energy source, insulation, etc. I've got an extra unit I built if you want to borrow it. Feel free to shoot me a message if you're interested or got any questions!
