Except, if it's a long line (couple hours? I don't know, I've never been in a CM line), he'll be driving out of SF to SR close to rush hour, something I'd never recommend. If it's an in-and-out thing, your recommendation is exactly what I'd do.

I've only been to Dank Williams and Double Dobis releases. Both times I got in line at around 11 (yeah i know i didn't really need to but I had a half day  ) and got my bottles (and inside for growlers) around 12:20-12:30. I figure if he visits sometime after 1:30 there still should be plenty of bottles and the line should have been cut down significantly

Thanks for the recommendations - I may just scrap the RR trip and hit up some other places around SF. One question for clarification - the post above says the release starts at 2. Do they typically open at 12 on the days of a release?

haha holy crap why did i remember 12? guess that was when i drove up from south bay.

Yeah sorry, got in line by 1ish, out by 2:30ish. The takeaway is that the line moves fairly quickly but it will be long if you go early.

Damn it. Cellermaker Dank bottle release or Beachwood Hopernicus bottle release?

It would be crazier for sure but worth it for average day shift worker like myself. Guess I'll call in sick one of these times.

For Dobis, I got there at 4pm, no line, got bottles. Waitied about 15 min to get in for growlers.

    Great fun time!

I'd go again, but I can't get off work today. If it's available tomorrow..........

Exactly what I've done each time except the coffee+cigs release, which I skipped. Hilarious that people line up before they open but I guess that's good because it allows the line to be gone by 3.

Moving pretty fast. In line at 2:30, bottles in hand 20 minutes later.

Just picked up my bottles. No line to go but a line to get in. They say there's only enough to let about another hour.

Last tweet I saw said 1 hour into sales and they were already thru half the bottles.

And what's wrong with hunting Pokemon? Some would argue it's much smarter than standing 2 hours in line for some beer.
