So have we determined the Cellermaker : Tree House ratio yet?

Shiiiiieeettt, it SHOULD be one for one, I've had copious amounts of both and CM is just as good if not better considering how many beer styles they put out.

10 CM beers for 1 Vanilla Rye. 1 Vanilla rye for two Julius.

If Highland Park bottles aren't getting any love, what makes you think Cellarmaker is going to be a blimp on those East Coasters mind.

    Good though, more for us.

Exactly and we don't have to wait in two hour lines for CM or Fieldwork brews which as I said I think are just as good as Treehouse, Trillium, Other Half, Hoof Hearted, and whoever else you wanna throw into this convo.

I was thinking the same thing. My advice, grossly exagerate the length of the lines and how quickly it is gone.

I will admit that Cellarmaker was not on my East Coast radar. But after this thread and reading some reviews it is now. I am one of the dwindling numbers of East Coasters that would rather have a Point than Tree House, Other Half ....

    Now practice this
    The line was a shitshow.
Guys in front had their mules sneak into line.
People got their allotment and then cut in line to get more.
They need to do The line differently. They should issue tickets.
The entire allotment was gone in 15 minutes. I got shut out but luckily a friend of mine got some and gave me a couple of bottles.

Considering they are doing runs every month, rotating different beers through, their won't be a shit show or any 1:1 with vanilla rye. We don't care about that stupid crap in SF.

"By minimizing the quantity of bottles per bottling run, we are consciously making an effort to not overwhelm the marketplace and to not fight for shelf space."

I'm sure the decision has nothing to do with the hype ensured by shorting the demand.

I have loved enjoyed EVERY cellarmaker beer I gave had, and that is the most important thing. But it irks me that they get a pass for the type of stuff that draws heavy criticism at other spots. This place hits every checkbox on the "new craft beer guy" list so hard I can never hang for more than like a half hour before I gotta seek refuge at some place that doesn't have reclaimed wood bar, Edison lightbulbs, hop pun beers, 90%+ IPA taplist, and beard-o tickers from wall to wall. Toronado usually works as a nice palate cleanser.

Man! You hit that right on the head. All those reasons up there is why my wife absolutely hates going there with me.

You forgot to mention the beer bros that like to stand in a circle and won't move for you so you can get by. That tends to happen a lot when I'm there.

CM is a small place overall. A 2000 bottle run, that they bottle the morning of is a great accomplishment. Plus it's a an IPA, not a crazy adjunct AF stout. I'm sure hype will hit initially, but die down when the hypesters move onto the next release, as usual. Then folks can go back to enjoying the beer, with slightly less crowds.

Hard to predict. Folks on the east coast regularly line up for hoppy beers, some of which you could just get on tap. I would think mostly it'll be traders. I prefer my hoppy beers on draft, so I'd just as soon get a growler.

The logistics of bottling and selling the whole run on the same day are indeed a massive and impressive undertaking. Then again that is their choice and no one would accuse them of laziness to have bottles go out a day or two after coming off the line. Personally, I'd like to see them just try to meet demand and produce enough to keep bottles in the place available at most times, even if it means sometimes they are a few days - maybe even a week past bottling. I much prefer a brewery only release with a few bottle limit than waiting in line for hours for an allocation that sells out in a day.. or hours... or minutes..... It's their place, obviously it doesn't matter what I want.... but this forum is for sharing opinions and experiences about beer and i'm just tossing out mine.

Lets see how all this goes down but I personally don't expect the cellermaker hype (justified though it may be) to die down anytime soon.

Again, I think these guys make great beer. I just don't really get how this thread was gushing with positivity for 30 posts until I weighed in with a little skepticism. Bet your britches if any other brewery said...

"By minimizing the quantity of bottles per bottling run, we are consciously making an effort to not overwhelm the marketplace and to not fight for shelf space."

...there would be much skepticism as to motive. That's all i'm saying man.

If Russian River or Alpine had said something like that, I guarantee you people would be up in arms about it. Hell. Just the other day Alpine told people be prepared to wait and people got angry as hell.

Surprised that people aren't already complaining that Cellarmaker isn't using BPT.

Breweries these days....Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I'll be watching from the side lines, a few blocks away. Have fun standing in line fellas, then trading all the bottles away! Also a choice.

Not a bad experience, got there around 1:15 and had approximately 50 people in front of me. Bottle buying started a bit earlier than two, counted three women in line. First person in line said they got there at 10:30. I would suggest arriving 90 minutes later than the start and you won't have to wait or at least not yet.
