Was in the neighborhood at around 230 today (they opened at 3pm today) and noticed a line had formed to get into Cellarmaker. Is that something that normally happens? I usually don't get there til a little after it opens on weekends but I thought it was a little odd.

Depends, how long were their beards and how short were their shorts?

Sounds like it a getting ROUGH out there.

Ha! I know you're joking but actually it was a group of older folks and one young couple. No beards. No bros. At least it didn't look like it.

Line like 3 people or 10?

Thursday opening usually gets a couple people waiting around 250. I imagine if you see more it's due to holiday visitors.

Having the mo passion right now. Not digging the herbal notes. Maybe it is too fresh. Taps are pretty weak today. Though this is growing on me as I sip it.

Watching the tap list dwindle as they prepare for the renovations has been pretty depressing lol. It does make it exciting to think what the wave of new beers is going to be when they reopen (haven't been in in awhile to check out the coming soon board).

Any word of what will change with the bar renovations?

It was released last week, Juice Lee, a 6% Pale Ale, we killed a growler last night, good stuff.

Their website says there is only 3 beers on tap... What the heck. Are they not brewing anything and closing the taproom for renovations? I'm heading up there today.

Toronado has two of their beers on tap, if you're looking to try some of their stuff. But yeah, Cellarmaker re-opens (Correction: Saturday, 1/7)

A good excuse to take the day off and fly up for this one. Any bottle limits?

Whoops, @angcolette was correct. They open again on Saturday 1/7, not Tues 1/10 as I originally said:

Limit 6. I think that's been the case for all their bottle releases? But this one explicitly says 6.

6 is a good number. Will have no problem fitting in my check in bags. Thx.

Really haven't been a huge fan of the (I)PAs they've chosen to bottle, other than maybe Mt Nelson. Double Dobis was solid, but I didn't like it enough to seek out again, and definitely think they should give another brew a chance instead of repeating it.

Would really like to see Double Moonage, Wicked Juicy, Electric Eye, Wide Rainbows, and at least a few more that I can't think of, in bottles before pretty much any of the ones bottled so far. And that's just out of the fraction of their catalog I've tried. There are a bunch that I haven't had that I've heard great things about.

There was even a blond that I had the first time I visited.... Hoppily Ever After, maybe? Super good, would be a good choice to mix it up a bit.

I agree to some degree. Besides Tiny Dankster we haven't really seen much variation among the hoppy bottles. I would like to see some of the original IPAs that made me fall in love with Cellarmaker...Hop Slangin, Hop Killah, Permanent Daylight in bottles. I would especially like to see Moonage Daydream because not only is it a fantastic galaxy pale ale, the bottle art would be epic.

My favorite bottle releases have been Mt Nelson, Are You Afraid of the Dank and Imperial Coffee & Cigarettes.

I like Cellarmaker's Pales a lot more than their IPAs/DIPAs, so I'd love to see more of those. Never had Moonage Daydream but I'm sure I'd be all over that <3
