Central City Red Betty IPA

    Does anyone know if this is being distributed in California now? I'm pretty sure I caught one of the stores I follow post it on social media recently but, admittedly, I haven't been able to follow up since I've been caught up with final exams. Now I can't seem to find the post. Anyone know?

    Looks like it. It's on Ales Unlimited's "our beer selection" on their website.

    Yeah I noticed it on some Bay Area bottle lists. Hopefully it's also being sent to SoCal.

    There are two seperate listings one for Red Racer and one for Red Betty. One is a canned American IPA with great ratings and Betty is bottled and is listed as an english IPA with mediocre ratings.
    red Racer is for Canada and Red Betty is for US

    These are the same beers correct?

    Red Racer is the original name for Red Betty. I think Bear Republic issued a cease and desist to Central City and they complied by changing the name to Red Betty for US distro.

    so will Hangar 24 have any issue with another Betty IPA in SoCal?

    I think Central City has prior art over Hangar 24, though, I'm not sure what the trademark situation is like for either of them.

    Hangar Betty has generated enough hype that I think they'll be just fine. Although any chance of Hangar releasing a Red IPA named Red Betty now seems to be gone.

    Truly cannot fathom the low ratings for Red Betty/Red Racer. It's an outstanding IPA!

    Ramirez Liquor got them in a couple days ago in cans dated May 22. I popped one open last night and while it was pleasant to drink, I found it to be more malty than I prefer. It reminded me of Two Hearted in a way.
