    Central coast suggestion;

    Avoid the wine dorks! They're just gonna throw all kinda French words and geography at you when you could be drinking beers from some west coast hop legends and enjoying one of the worlds premier barrel programs

    It takes a lot of great beer to make great wine

    Sorry to hijack, I'm enjoying the wine talk.

    Any good beer stores in SLO?

    Bumping this thread....
    I'm looking at There Does Not Exist in SLO I noticed it ain't far from SBP airport. Actually a nice 1 hour walk from it. And I noticed that Liquid Gravity is right next to SBP. There's also SLO in the same area as LGB. Is there another way to see what on tap at TDNE & LGB besides Instagram & Facebook? Is SLO worth a stop in before I catch my plane back to LAX?

    I don't know about another way to see what's on tap, but all three of those are worth visiting.

    California Fresh Market and SLO wine and Beer co have good selections and usually the local cans. Also Bottle Market in the SLO Public Market has some good to go and taps

    I'll be landing at San Luis Obispo airport at noon and have about 7 hours in the city. Before heading over to TDNE & Liquid Gravity we'd like to check out downtown SLO. Anything worth checking out? Any recommendations on lunch downtown before catching Uber to TDNE & LG before our flight back to LAX. SLO Brew is around the corner from LG. I see they have food menu. Maybe dinner and a pint before hitting the airport? Or should I check out their downtown location before heading to TDNE/LG?

    Firestone Grill downtown, for tri tip sandwich, side of fries, and a chicken taco.
    Or if you want something (maybe) less busy, High Street Deli is closer to the airport, is awesome, and has a solid selection of beers in the cooler.
    But if you have the time, Firestone is a definite bucket list meal, even though I'm sure the same people who think pliny's overrated would say the same about it. And during summer it's possibly dead if you hit it at the right time. And actually, last time I went, I ordered ahead online, and just went and picked it up, same as if I'd stood in the line to order. As easy as it gets, despite being packed at that time. Will be doing that from now on.

    After a missed flight and a 5 1/2 hour delayed flight our quick trip to SLO turned into a 24hr long hoppiness trip. First up…High Street Deli, spot on sandwich shop on the corner. Highly recommend if your in need of a sammy fix. Took @UnknownKoger advice and got the Dutch Punch. Ah, the wife & I split it. No way I could eat the large myself. A bit on the more spicy side for us. Maybe a little less spice. The fat a$$ pickle helped tone down the heat. Anyway it was very good, besides the extra heat. Walking the downtown street I found a record shop. Remember them? Picked up a RSD drop I wanted to get. Lucky find. Uber’d to TNDE. Empty when we walked in. Packed when we left. Must of been doggie day at TDNE. Had half pours of their Helles and 3 ipa’s (2 west/1 haze). Grabbed 3 4pks to go. All fresh. Cool interior design for tasting room. We then Uber’d on over to Liquid Gravity. A total 360 plus another 180 degree difference than TDNE. Nothing what I was expecting when we walked in the tasting room. Empty. Everyone was outside in the outdoor barn area. Rocking the F out with the local band Truth About Seafood. Truth is they rocked out! A mix of classic rock/heavy rock and some of their own material. :heavymetal: Not as much hipsters, more on the hippie side. Ipa’s at LG we’re good. 5 4oz pours. 4 west/1 hazy. Got a text that our flight was delayed 2 1/2 hours. Another 2 1/2 pours later we Uber’d back to SBP. I’m pretty much under the table at this point. I was more into the band and taco truck. I’ll definitely go back for the atmosphere. At the tiny airport our flight back was delayed for another 2 1/2 hours. We flew out at midnight. In the house by 230am. Bed by 3am, same time I woke up 24hrs earlier. The :ok_hand:hop trip. :heavymetal:
    Sorry for the long and winding story.
    :beers:
