Heading up to Central CT for the 4th. Any good/not to e missed local NE beers that might be in the area bottle shops at this time? Also taking a trip to Long Island during the week, same question for there.

    Thanks!

Best bet for great beers is the breweries themselves, not bottle shops. Most breweries are closed on the 4th. Do you have leeway for the 5th? If so, New England Brewing in Woodbridge.

I'm there for a week. Do any of the bottle shops carry their stuff?

Definitely check out New England Brewing in Woodbridge, CT. Stores do carry their cans, but they do a lot of brewery only stuff for growler fills. For cans they have Sea Hag IPA. Elm City Pilsner, 668 The Neighbor of The Beast Belgian Strong Golden Ale, and occasionally, and much more hard to find, Gandhi-Bot Double IPA. You are definitely better off going to the brewery if possible, and grabbing some growlers and throwing them in coolers with ice. They are closed this friday and then Sunday-Tuesday. OEC brewing in Oxford makes awesome sours if you are into that. You can only get their beer at the brewery in growlers and maybe bottles. Relic brewing is pretty awesome and is in Plainville which is near Hartford. They sell growlers and bottles out of the brewery.

Thanks for the advice, I will try and get to the brewery.

Def grab some Back East Summer cans! Hoppy blonde with Citra, Simcoe and Galaxy and under 5%. Its really good. Also I would grab some tall boy cans of Hopstillo IPA by Broad Brook Brewing, not amazing but good ipa in cans for a local

@FLBeerGuy Oops, just noticed on New England Brewing's FB that they're closed tomorrow (Sat), thought they might be open. Sorry. If you stop at some local package stores you should/might be able to get cans of their Sea Hag, which is a great IPA.
