Central Florida Breweries

    I have friend of 20+ years who I've recently come back in contact with (yay!). She lives in Orlando and I live in Tampa. Does anyone know of any breweries in between Orlando and Tampa that are worth checking out? Looking at the map all I can see is stuff on Disney property (I'd like to avoid if possible) or stuff that hasn't opened yet. Any idea of other places we can meet up? I would prefer a place somewhere in between so neither of us has to drive too far home. Thanks a lot!!

    Not sure on the locations exactly but there are a number of good breweries in that area...Cigar City, Cycle, Green Bench, Angry Chair, Pair O Dice and Coppertail just to name a few.

    Dunedin Brewery in Dunedin is one of the best in Florida and only about 15 minutes from Tampa on the Gulf. 7venth Sun is also in Dunedin and has some great brews. I don't know of much "in between" as there isn't much on that stretch of I-4. Most places are going to be in Tampa as they have really worked hard to attract breweries in that area with lots of tax breaks and what not. Two Henrys is more on the Orlando side of Tampa but still Hillsborough County. Out of the two cities Tampa has many more options. Just make her drive to Tampa, the brewery and restaurant list should be enough to convince.

    I don't think there is anything between, yet. Agree that you should talk her into coming to Tampa.
