doing the drive this weekend.. any recommendations on stops? Thinking we are going to take the Turnpike down to 1 and 113, and stop by Dog Fish Brewery (have never been there) Other Option would be take the parkway straight down to Cape May and stop by Cape May brewing then take the ferry over. not looking to go too far off our path.. any recommendations on this? Trying to not make it a much longer trip than anticipated.
worth it? seems like they dont have many to go options.. it would be a quick pickup from there i thnk
Haven't been to the brewery, but all the beers I've had have been great. The JREAMS are really good fruited sours, and their IPA's are excellent too. Can't speak to can availability - looks like a release next weekend unfortunately. Didn't realize your caveat was only to stop in for to go options, but seems its literally on your route... worth going in for a flight at least.
I was at Cape May two weeks ago. I think it is worth the stop. The only down side is that you are then stuck doing the ferry. I am not a fan of the ferry.
Tonewood is probably less than 15 minutes from Exit 3 on the tpke. They're canning now, but also had crowlers the last time I was there.
go to Dewey Beer Co no release this weekend but they do crowlers they have some prefilled in a cooler but to my understanding they can fill anything available on tap that you want when I went to OCMD a few weeks ago they had a release - Swishy Pants IPA, Hot Wax IPA, Secret Machine with cranberry and pink guava Only had one of the Secret Machine cans and it was on the beach w/ my kids, avoiding my sand in my beer as well as my Italian sandwich, in what felt like 100 degree heat so it wasn't ideal to evaluate it but I wanna say it's as good as the Burley Oak Jreams beers I've had...including some really well received ones such as double blueberry cobbler, triple berry cherry, etc. they seem to typically have multiple Secret Machine variants As far as places in OCMD with decent taps, if you use Untappd you should be able to find some places...Brass Balls Saloon, Pickles Pub, 45th Street Taphouse, 9th Street Taphouse, Pizza Tugos (West Ocean City), Anthony's Liquors (not on Untappd but I know they do have crowlers and have always been a good option for stuff to go in the past with the likes of Burley Oak, Maine Beer Bottles, etc.)...great for a sandwich as well A bit out of the way but I think RAR is doing a release this weekend...you can preorder and pickup by the end of the weekend I believe
