Thanks, that price sounds more like it. Definitely weird though, think I remember someone posting about discrepancies in their pricing before also. Like one week all their regular house beers jumped up to $8 for a few days.

Dropped the ball on the lastest round of releases...

Raditude - Funky Witbier w/ oranges

We let this beer slowly ferment for several months with our CSB house cultures for a wonderful yeasty funk balanced out with refreshing citrus.

Citra Oatsplosion - Oat IPA dry-hopped w/ Citra hops
Mosaic Oatsplosion - Oat IPA dry-hopped w/ Mosaic hops

We have two variants on our oat IPA, Oatsplosion: Citra Dry Hopped Oatsplosion and Mosaic Dry Hopped Oatsplosion. Each variant uses the same base recipe, with an absurd amount of oats... but we wanted to highlight individually the two star hops of this beer on their own. Be sure to check out both!

Kind of forget quite a few releases lately. But, anyhow...

Friday, October 19th at The Koelschip @ 12pm

    Hickory Ridge - Farmhouse IPA

Named for one of our favorite trail networks in Southern Indiana, this beer is the perfect complement for a fall hike. Crisp malt is backed by an assertive dose of Belma and Cryo Citra hops followed up by spicy farmhouse funk

Friday, October 26th at The Koelschip @ 12pm

La Luzerne (collab w/ Salud Cerveceria) - Farmhouse Ale with Lemons, Rosemary, and Alfalfa Hay

When you find a kindred spirit in this industry its easy to become fast friends, that was the case when we met the folks from Salud a few years ago. Since then they have become some of our best friends. Fresh lemons add brightness, rosemary adds a depth of flavor, and whats more farmhouse than running your beer through Alfalfa hay?

Raspberry - Fruited Sour Ale with Raspberry and Lactose

Dripping with fruit flavor, this sour ale finishes with a touch of smooth sweetness thanks to a dose of lactose sugar!

"Friday we are releasing Salvador, the newest addition to the Central State Brewing Research and Development bottle series. Named for one of our favorite Good Boys, this tart and funky Saison has been barrel fermented and aged in red wine barrels."

Friday, November 30th at The Koelschip @ 12pm

Lazer Raptor - Gose w/ cranberry & lime

Pew Pew!!! Once thought to be extinct, Lazer Raptor is a Gose style beer brewed with Cranberries, Limes, Sea Salt and fermented 100% with Brettanomyces. Goseanna!

    Sports Television - IPA

This beverage is a real barnburner – sure to fill up the whole stat sheet. It’s a lineup stacked with a Murderer’s Row of Citra & Simcoe hops in the kettle, with a Cascade, Citra, & Simcoe Cryo dry-hop batting cleanup. And we can’t forget about the hometown hero: the Indiana-malted barley, wheat, & oats brought their A-game today, folks. They have unbelievable chemistry! True professionals all the way, these grains always play the game the right way.

Bit late with it, but this dropped yesterday

Polyjuice Potion - Gose w/ elderberries and plums

This collaborative is for wizards and muggles who solemnly swear they are up to no good. A sour brew concocted with plums, elderberries, and magical bits and bobbles.

Friday, February 1st at 12pm @ The Koelschip (Three Year Anniversary of bar Feb 1st & 2nd)

    New Money - Hazy IPA

New Money vs. Old Money. A Rivalry that spans the ages. The Old guard holding onto tradition. The new kids trying to break down walls and redefine norms. This beer is firmly planted in the new. Brewed using the first batch of malted oats ever produced in Indiana and aggressively dry-hopped with Mosaic, Hull Melon, and Simcoe hops this beer is anything but old school.

Coffee Nephilim - Imperial Stout w/ Dark Matter's Unicorn Blood espresso

Still haven't had a central Indiana hazy ipa that I'd routinely buy a 4 pack of. Indiana City has the look down but there's a house flavor to theirs that makes it seem off. I prefer the Central State ones I've tried on draft versus cans. Deviate's recent Hop Supremacy with conan yeast was pretty good. Is Rock Bottom downtown still cranking good examples out? Haven't been there in almost a year.

My pub here in central Ohio ordered a coupe kegs from Central State. The sours/goses were great. But the "farmhouse" IPA's such as Gus and Oatsplosion, were awful. Something was wrong with the kegs. They would just pour foamy regardless of the pressure setting. Apparently CS told the distributor that only some tap systems can handle those kegs? Seemed really odd. They've had everything from kegged rosè wine to Maine Dinner to European nitro stouts come through without a hitch, but these IPA's were just too much for the tap system? We tried the two beers from cans as well, and they were both absolutely awful, so maybe it's for the better.

Hope they stick to just ordering CS's sours like Lazer Raptor and Raspberry, which were quite good as I mentioned earlier.

I believe they are still making some of the same good ones as they were in the other location (as it's the same brewer). Plus, I think they also do crowlers, which is cool.

IIRC, the line of Farmhouse IPAs is going away. If you see the cans, all of the black label series IPAs are used with a clean yeast (like Kviek, etc) and not the CSB House yeast. But, I think most, if not all, IPAs you see being released from here on out will be clean. So, no need to worry about your pub getting a keg of CSB IPA and it being like Oatsplosion or Gus. Although, I personally really like some of the other Farmhouse IPAs, like Gus, Too Shallow For Commerce, etc. Personal tastes, I suppose.

I don't mess with draft really, so I don't much about it pouring all foamy and CSB telling them only certain systems can handle them. I mean, it plausible that the couplers weren't fully closed (as that has happened at bars where theyd pour all foam and found out they werent fully connected to the keg). Or, perhaps they were tapped while still warm. But, those are just guesses.

Butterfly Kisses - Farmhouse Ale w/ hibiscus

Soft. Dry. Pillowy. Fruity. This farmhouse ale was fermented slowly over six months with a mix of our farmhouse culture and select Belgian style yeast strains for a balanced level of funk. The fruity hibiscus adds layers of red berries, tropical flowers, and a promise of warmer days to come.
