Would you go up Friday or just Saturday? I'd be interested if it was just a one nighter...

Booya! I'll be there! Hit a deer two days before the 14th party last year and failed to make the drive in my 1998 purple Dodge Caravan rental car.

OK, I get to be crotchety old man this morning. Could be this year. When we first went four years ago all of us beer geeks could fit in that little tiny room in back. Last year there were 5x as many people & that little room was in pretty bad shape by the end of the night.

With 1414 being so amazing last year, I can only imagine the possibility for an exponential increase in bodies.

Behave yourselves. Central Waters is incredibly cool to both (a) open up their entire brewery for this party & (b) allow us nut-jobs to use their room with the 'private bathroom'. Let's try to keep the place trashed-free & make sure everyone is respecting the brewery space they've allowed us. It only takes one idiot for us to lose the privelege of what is a fantastic bottle-share during the party.

I think I heard about this... and you had to walk 5 miles through knee deep snow to get to the tasting room...

Likely will be this year, unfortunately. When people start calling the brewery to confirm the date so they can book their plane tickets, you have to imagine that things are going to be a bit of a shit show. I've got my fingers crossed for a nice blizzard that day...

How close are CW and Dave's Brewfarm?

only separated by about 200 miles. Its probably safe to think of Dave's Brewfarm being in Minneapolis.

i might be able to one-up you here. the first year they opened a specific room for beer nerds there were about 8 of us in there. the second year.. about 12-15.

since then it has asploded. couldn't even bear to wedge myself in to the room last year. there was just no elbow room. that was before 7 PM.

I didn't bother with the BA/RB room last year, but there was an OK amount of room to move around last year for "everyone else." Was it kind of a shitshow last year?

Nah, no poo-show. It wasn't bad, just really crowded, that room isn't very big, & there were a few people that I could have done without. But that's true just about every day.

I didn't even know about the bottle share, I was just a lurker on here last year but that's awesome. I should be there and would love to get in on a bottle share and meet some fellow BA's there. I can't wait to see what they will be tapping at this bad boy this year

They are also the only brewery that I know of who provide free shuttles to and from the hotel. Something to be grateful for when you've drank for six-eight hours and just want to crash.

It's only another month - stop the train already...
Before anyone decides to post the question - 1414 is in barrels for 14 months, 1515 will be in barrels for 15 months.

I would like to see them release Exodus again at this party. Loved that stuff!

How do you know? either way the base beer has an extra year of age on it, why not have it in the barrels?

That should happen since it was bottled a couple of weeks ago...

Talked to the Rep at the Great Taste - he laughs every time the question is presented because everyone thinks it's some huge secret. Every year the base beer is kept in the barrel of an extra month, since the brewery is another year old.If you happen to get the BBS on tap - it's almost identifcal to 1414... why, because it was aged 12 months instead of 14.
