I thought the base beer for 1414 was different from BBS (Satin Solstice)... wrong or whatup?

It is a different base beer. 1515 is also a totally different base beer. As is 1616. It just so happens that all of these three are imperial stouts. But 1717 and future annual releases may be different styles. But the first two digits do relate to the number of months in the barrel. The last two digits are the anniversary year.

Thats not what I was told by one of the central waters guys directly when i asked about the 15th anniversary beer, he said that all he would say is that only half of the base beer from 1414 was used for 1414, so i assume the 15th anny beer is the same base beer as 1414. and 1414 was named that because it was aged for 14 months (first 14) in 14 year barrels (second 14) in honor of their 14th anniversary.

The anniversary beer wont be called 1515 this year, just 15.

That makes sense. I did hear that style may not always be imperial stouts but 14, 15 and 16 are. I stand corrected on the number of months in the barrel.

I'm excited for the Peruvian Morning release. There aren't very many BBA Coffee Stouts that drinkable.
