Anyone planning on going out to Amherst for the 18th Anniversary Party? Me and my brother-in-law will be heading there, along with a few others. This will be my first time there, and I'm extremely excited to get the full allotment of 18 for 15 a pop (which seems insanely reasonable to me!).

Anyone been to previous years? How was it? Is there a bottle share like DDay? I'm gathering that there is no camping out the night before (not that I would want to in the end of January).

This will be our sixth year & it's awesome. Expect big crowds, though with the ticketing limited entrance numbers this year, that might change. There are bottle shares in town at the hotels & some at the Anniversary Party but honestly, with all the fantastic beer that CW pumps out, I've never felt moved to take part. And since you're guaranteed bottles with a ticket, you could camp out, but I'm not sure what the point would be (unless you have a strange affinity for hypothermia & frostbite).

One of the my favorite events every year & the Central Waters crew does it right. Already on the calendar!

Do we know when BA Silhouette is scheduled to be released this year? Is there a chance they won't be on the same day?

Not sure yet, even if it is on the same day there was a week window last year to pick up your bottles

For BA Sil? I really like the BA Sil release party and don't want to miss it.

We managed to hit both last year but it was a pain in the ass and we didn't get to fully enjoy either. Hoping for different weekends this year!

Given the choice between a smorgasbord of Central Waters beers & BA Silhouette, I'm headed to Amhert, WI every time! :grinning:

This is what I figured. Do people usually stay at the hotels in Steven's Point? Also, we'll have to meet up! I'm already extremely excited for this.

Yes, get a hotel in Stevens Point - comfort suits, econolodge, and holiday Inn are shuttle stops.

On a side note, have any of u done the oso release the night before? I can't remember if that is also a ticketed event or not. We're looking at doing that as well this year.

Without going back to look at the old threads, my recollection is that 16 lasted a few months (at least two anyway), and 17 lasted a few weeks.

I think 16 lasted closer to 8 months

I think you may be right. The guys I was next to at Darkness Day last year picked it up on their way from Chicago to Minneapolis. So from whenever they released it to Dday for sure.

I picked up 4 bottles around the 3rd week of February. IIRC it sold out around the end of Feb.

I wonder what will be different about 18 if anything...I feel like they have already done about every awesome combination for a barrel aged stout
