Any word on what CW is doing for 17 (if anything?). I heard that they did a 3 year run on BA stouts and it would switch up... just seeing if anyone knew of anything in the works...

Tickets went on sale December 1st last year for the 16th anni party. There probably won't be any information known about the 17th anni party until Thanksgiving week.

They will have this incredible sour coffee beer this year. It's gonna blow people away!

It's going to be a blend of 3 vintages, I hear.

For anyone in MKE, they're having a CW beer dinner at Rumpus Room in September. Went to the CW dinner there last year- had one of the most phenomenal beers I've ever tasted and ate some veal brains. Highly recommended if you're not a vegan/vegetarian.

What was the beer and what did you think of the veal brains?

The brains freaked me out a bit- they were still in one piece, definitely eating a lightly fried brain. Taste was really minerally- texture was melty/fatty. I'd eat it again but would prefer it chopped and fried in a taco or something like that.

The beer was CW Barleywine aged specially for Rumpus Room. The barrel was a bourbon barrel (Heaven Hill, I think) that was used for bourbon (of course) followed by maple syrup (which Rumpus used) followed by a cocktail (for 1 year, also served by Rumpus) finally followed by Barleywine for just over a year. They had saved a bottle of the cocktail to serve alongside.

They also served an Imperial Stout aged in a similar barrel (no maple syrup and a much more "herbal" cocktail"). If I can find the menu I'll have more info on the cocktail ingredients. Hands down the best barleywine I've ever had- the course that paired with it was beef cheeks.
