Shops that don't have it yet should get their deliveries by the end of the week. Worth picking up a case for sure.

Yep, they had many cases at Discount in MKE yesterday when I was there.

Does anyone know if this will be making an appearance in Chicago anytime soon, or if supply will be running out soon? Otherwise I was going to ask a buddy in Milwaukee to pick some up for me (I'd get it from him when I'm up there in a few weeks).

Also, is it sold in a 6-pack or a 4-pack?

It always makes it to Chicago and there always cases upon cases sitting around. Comes in 4 packs.

Fantastic! I'll hold off and buy it myself then. Thanks for the info!

Saw it at Ray's, Discount Liquor and Sendik's in New Berlin.

Previous year's releases haven't done much for me - too much booze and barrel. This year's version is friggin delicious.

This makes me wanna try because it reeks with honesy and not the homerism I'm used to hearing. CW BBS is good but hasn't challenged BCBS in the past like some would have you think

It still doesn't challenge BCBS, but is a decent replacement if you don't like- waiting in lines/ putting your name on a list/ considering $5 a bottle a bargain/ running to 10 different stores to get a case/ only buying it one day a year.

Damn, you guys aren't kidding, this year's batch is like a thinner 16. A lot smoother and balanced than the previous years.
BCBS has a rich thickness going for it, which CW BBS doesn't have obviously, but I like it that way. It's hard to drink 1 BCBS, but you could drink the whole 4-pk of CW BBS pretty easily.

Question for you locals on this (with a little background)... I'm originally from WI, and currently live in Georgia. CW BBS is one of a handful of beers that I stock up on at Christmas time to bring back and ration out until the following year. I've never had a problem finding it in abundance in the Fox Valley where my in-laws live and usually bring back a case (almost always being able to purchase said case at one location).

This year my wife and I are staying in the south the for the holidays, so I had a friend (also a WI native currently living in Georgia) grab a few four packs (3 to be exact) for me while he was home over Thanksgiving. He frequents Discount Liquor in MKE (as do I when I drive through town, I'm originally from MKE) and they gave him a hard time about buying 3-four packs. I understand limits on things, but can't ever remember having a limit enforced on CW BBS... at Discount or elsewhere. Is the batch smaller this year? Just curious as we thought it was odd they'd give him a hard time when there was no posted limit.

It's sometimes limited during the initial release, but there will definitely be cases to be had within a few weeks.

Slap me stupid I can't wait for this to hit Chicago, love this beer!

Side-note: Why don't they stop making Peruvian Morning-Infection but instead invest that Brew time and Barrel Aging into their Barley Wine? Hot damn that Barley Wine is the jam.

That's what I figured. Truth be told I've never purchased (or had others purchase for me) this close to initial release time. It's usually the end of December/beginning of January before I do my purchases. And, to be fair to the folks at Discount, when my buddy explained he was buying for an out of town former resident, they couldn't have been cooler about it.

They will not be making PM this year, or anytime in the foreseeable future. I expect we'll see more releases like the Rye BA Chocolate Porter (brewery only) and Rum BA Headless Heron. It'd be great to see them play around with BA barleywines- had some one-off casks in the past that have been out of this world.

I had the two back to back last weekend and preferred CW hands down.....but that's just me. It seemed far more complex and well balanced. BCBS seemed fairly plain and always tastes like beer jerky.

I just opened one. I think I'm in love. It's fantastic, and MUCH more drinkable than BCBS. Kudos to CW.

How ubiquitous is this stuff? My dad is driving to GB this weekend from Minneapolis and I asked him to look for some. What will be the easiest places to find some? Anyone seen it in Green Bay?

I'm sure in GB it would be at the local woodman's and Ridgeview liquor as well. Maybe festival foods too
