Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout

I wasn't either, this years is legit though. As always thinner body but this years is so balanced, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and charred oak in delicious harmony.

 

I had one tonight. Solid beer. Will drink again.

 

Got a case from nova a few weeks ago for 15ish a 4pack (w/o MN alcohol sales tax), finally got around to cracking one, damn fine beer, no gush.
Rationing down to a bottle a month and set up a 6 year vert for it in the cellar. Might grab another case at the CW18 release party if they still have them as they are 70-80(w/o MN taxes) a case brewery direct.

 

Also finally cracked one last night. Might be the best year yet fresh, & now I will be out to find some more!

 

Snagged a few central waters bourbon stout for $12.99.. amazing beer.. i even did a 20/80 mix with the central waters scotch ale

Great beer, but chase trucks for it I will not!

 

Did a '13, '14, '15 vert last night. '15 is better than '14 but non-infected '13 is drinking amazing right now.

 

I would have to agree with this. I have a little '14 and '13 stowed in my basement and was going to let '15 pass this year until I drank a '13 a couple nights ago - it was simply awesome - on level with Seventeen in my mind. I have been whittling down my cellar of late because I have found very few beers (including stouts) that actually taste "better" with age but CW BBS and BBBW I think have earned a yearly buy from me for this exact reason.

 

Just opened another 15 2day, i stated in a earlier post that this years was the best of the past 3, it truly is a great year for this BA Stout 48 oz for < $14 is superb.

 

Crap, well I passed on this a few times already this year as the last few although good were just that, good. Maybe I'll go grab a single or two.

 

I haven't seen this in Iowa yet or more specifically in Des Moines. Did I miss it this year? Last year was super disappointing but willing to give it another shot.

 

I heard the distributor got shorted and many stores won't see it.

 

Johnson Brothers did not allocate it for Iowa and it all went out east as far as 4pks go. I plan to get some to share with central Iowa friends and BAs at their Anniversary Party on 1/30 if it's still available at the brewery by that time.

 

It was fantastic on tap at the Old Fashioned.

 

This is the first year I've pick some up so I don't have the past versions to compare to but I love this year's version. Seems like the just right amount of bourbon flavor - not too hot with the alcohol. Still have a couple bottles left - it will be tough not to crack them in the next few days.
