Here I am drinking a Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine, & damn, this is one of the best beers on the planet, or at least the Midwest. I bought enough of it to drown a small donkey, & I'm not sure it's going to last the summer. I just keep reaching for it whenever I want a top-shelf beer.

Easily one of my top-ten all-time favorites. Thanks goes out to Central Waters for making such a kick-ass beer & ramping up production this year...if you make twice as much next year, I'll happily buy it every time I see it on store shelves.

That is all. Now returning you to your regularly scheduled beer drinking.

No doubt that's an awesome beer. Eyeenjoy beer gave me my first one as an extra and I havent looked back. Do me a favor and don't hurt the donkey.

CW BBBW is outstanding. I believe the Y2K is the base and that's one hell of a barley wine to mix in with the BA to make it last until the following years release or at least little long that is

Absolutely my favorite WI brewery. Now if only the Bourbon Barrel Stout wasn't gone from Milwaukee (I only have one bottle left and boy do I not want to drink it now... no, I do.).

I just had this for the first time tonight and wow what a pleasant surprise! I'm going to look for this each time I go to the store because it's what I like to call a sleeper! What a great beer and a big thanks to Central Waters for an outstanding barleywine.

    Yea have to agree.

I rarely purchase more than a 12 pack of the same beer (Daisy Cutter / Zombie Dust / Gumballhead excluded), but I always end up with around a case of CW BBBW every year.

It tastes amazing now, and while it doesn't get better, it certainly holds up for at least 30 months without any significant deterioration (given decent cellaring conditions).

Yeah the BBBW is tasty but the Peruvian Morning I had recently was gross. Hopefully they figure out what went wrong and fix it for next time.

It's really a shame that happened this year, because that MIGHT be my overall favorite CW brew (MAYBE), and was drinking great up until, well, I saw the damn thread on here, then ever bottle was off, ha.

Glad to see the BBBW has some fans! Not only that, but it's also one of the more "affordable" barrel-aged options. I only hope they keep pumping out this beer. Along with the amazingment that is 1414, they have one of the better barrel-aging programs in the Midwest.

BBBW is drinking GREAT now, wish I had more of it. At least Jan isn't TOO far off from now.

In Wisconsin, Central Waters is like Fight Club, you don't talk about Fight Club! It's relatively easy to get their beers now in Wisconsin. I hope they don't get too big. Their barreling program is top notch and only getting better. Peruvian morning was awesome fresh, I recently opened one at Dark Lord days and it took on a bad flavor having been cellared for a few months.

Love the CW BBS and BBBW. Not just as bargain pours, but as great pours, period!

Love their barrel aged stuff. Easily accessible in the Philly 'burbs and I am oh-so grateful.

I had a great bottle of Peruvian Morning but haven't bought any more after reading the thread here about the off flavors on most batches.

Haven't had a bad beer from them yet. Even their Mudpuppy Porter is really pleasant to drink.

Their Bourbon Barrel Stout may be the best stout I had this past winter, their Porter is top-notch as well. Salut, indeed.

Did anyone get to try the "experimental stout"? So, so good.

Now if they would put out something decent in the year round selection, they would be on to something. I cant think of another brewery that has such a good limited/seasonal lineup, with such mediocre year rounds.
