Someone bought the entire allotment of this from Hyvee 20 min ago. WTF!

That's not cool. Will be in Woodman's tomorrow. Hoping to get at least one, not an entire allotment!

 

After hunting around Madison on Sunday for some and striking out most places, including Hy-Vee, I did ask and find out that their "allotment" was 12 bottle/case. So someone buying all 12 bottles may not have been nice but it sounds pretty out of proportion once I found out it was 1-12 bottle case. Liq dept guy said they are expecting more this week.

 

I knew it was only a case. I'm glad that person was greedy enough to take them all. I'll take one, maybe two and let others get some. But good for that guy, glad he scored big.

 

Plenty at Trixie's liquor in Madison FYI.

 

Picked one up at Woodman's a few days ago. I had to stick my arm in to reach it!

 

Had this for the 1st time at last years anniversary party and thought it was absolutely amazing. Sadly, I've had it on tap and now in the bomber since that time and it hasn't been able to live up to having it on tap at the party. Still very good though!

 

Haven't had any luck finding this or the bourbon barrel scotch ale around Oshkosh/Neenah. Anyone see bottles around there?

Brewhouse was amazing the one time I had it. By far the best coffee stout, and I don't even drink coffee. But the scrambling and chasing makes me think this is another beer that I'll be scratching off my list. Certainly demand has increased since I tried it four years ago, but I can't help but think people wouldn't be killing themselves for this if distribution hadn't been expanded. 12 bottles for a high traffic store in Madison isn't good news for those hoping this would easy meet demand and last around a bit.

And for those Mudducks and FIB's that are going to bitch about distribution, you already drive an absurd amount to get New Glarus. Combining Central Waters would just give you more incentive to make a trip.

 

Does Trixies in Madison still some? I'm sure that the Cannery in Sun Prairie will have some.

 

You're asking the wrong person. I'm over three hours from Madison. My comments in the previous post were based on what's being reported in this thread.

 

Not sure where you are at, but Coffee seems to be everywhere in Milwaukee. I have gone to the same couple spots multiple times since it was released and I always see plenty on the shelves.

 

Just opened up the one bottle I have and its a great coffee stout. Reminds me of my first homebrewed coffee stout, but so, so, so much better.

 

Good to hear. I'm in NW Wisconsin where things seem to be released later than elsewhere.
