Already sold out online again. They have a different definition of the word "afternoon" than I do.

 

Afternoon in Waynesville, NC is what they meant.

 

And now another friend showed up and said no more local sales. So they were allowing it this morning but not anymore. Figured I should update information if I had it

 

This is a stupid game.

 

I think its CWs way of joining in on the 2020 madness. Might as well burn the whole year down.

Seems like the Facebook commentariat is only just realizing that today's bottles apparently came and went before noon.

 

I'm happy to be ahead of them, for once.

 

It was kind of crappy the way it was set up so you can't really tell if you missed it or it hadn't happened yet. You know there's gotta be some poor bastards out there still F5-ing in vain waiting for the sale to start.

I have a few questions before I place a pickup order. Has anyone here had CW's Black is Beautiful? Looks like theirs is just a stout with no flavorings added to it? Are the Cassian and Peruvian bottles for sale on the site old stock or a new run? If I order a snifter of the double barrel for curbside with my pickup date of October 10th, is that likely to work out for me? Hell I could just order 8 pours and bring my own bottles. Maybe I shouldn't be giving people any ideas...

 

You can ship out hundreds of vials so all your beer friends can wet their whistle!!

 

Old stock as far as I know unless they brewed a batch for onsite sales only.

 

ISO that double barrel. I need to get some local Wisconsin friends.

 

Thats not gonna be easy for a FIB.

 

Double Barrel is on tap at the brewery right now, along with Black Gold. Way darker and a tad thicker than Black Gold with much more chocolate and dark fruit flavors. Black Gold still has more barrel heat and flavor. I prefer Black Gold slightly more, but I think the majority will like Double Barrel more.

 

Did anyone else who purchased Double Barrel set your pickup date for way out on the calendar? I set my pickup for same day as Black Gold since the option was there and nothing on the store page indicated this wasn't allowed. After purchase someone shares a screengrab from a facebook discussion (I don't use FB or the 'gram) where the brewery's account essentially says you have a week to pickup. The conflicting info had me worried so I called today and they confirmed no control over the date range parameters in the pickup date drop down menu and they want the bottles gone ASAP due to space/storage and the risk of 'accidentally selling them.' I'm a bit disappointed at the lack of straight info that could've been posted on the purchase page but oh well. Guess I'll be taking a drive this weekend.

Just sharing in case anyone else has the same issue.
