I've seen a decent amount of Illumination in the cities still, but there are still a good amount of 4 packs if the BBBW out at Excelsior Vintage of Highway 7. Greg and Susan run the shop, they told me they stocked up as much as they could of it so I think there's a good amount there. Also an overall nice selection for a small bottle shop, worth checking out. Figured I'd spread the word.
Where exactly is this? I'm on Hwy 7 everyday and have no idea where this is. I almost feel ashamed to admit this.
Hmmm I haven't had this and but did just find their BB Stout for the first time and love it. Was planning heading over to Hudson to pick up some New Glarus Black Top but now I'm not sure I shouldn't trek west instead.
If you're heading west towards Excelsior (and the soon to be Excelsior brewing, shameless plug) there's a right turn lane BEFORE you get to County Road 19, I believe it's Mill Street. The bottle shop is literally right off of 7 on the right on Mill. Dont trust google maps.
You have shattered your mantle of invincibility. I thought you'd been in every shop in Minnesota at least a half-dozen times (& yes, I'm just envious!).
I found it very troubling to admit that this was practically under my nose and went unnoticed. I did pride myself on having turned over every stone in town. I will relinquish my badge and quietly slip into the sunset. Farewell all! I was able to locate it really easily this morning on the way to work, now that I was looking for it. I've kind of ignored it, it used to be a sandwich shop, so I've not given it a second look. I'm going to have to stop in on my way home.
I have wondered about that shop. Just did not know if they had enough good beer to warrant a stop. Now I will. Maybe tomorrow even. It is extremely easy to miss the place. Need better signage out front.
Called them after work today. Guy said the BBBW is gone and only had a few four packs of Illumination left. He made it sound like the BBBW was gone awhile ago and it flew off the shelves.
Stopped buy Excelsior Vintage today and picked up some Illumination. Nice little shop that is looking to add many more beers. It kind of reminds me of Dolce Vita in Chaska. Vintage definately carries a lot more BMC to cater to the lake crowd and is not as well established and organized.
