So...we got a beer...a Belgian Blonde we have been aging in wine barrels for a year. We've decided that if you pre-register for the River Run on October 12th - you get a bottle! This is a never before released pilot batch, and this is the only way you can get a bottle!! Sign up now!!!

(Obviously) same day as the Black Gold release/Great Amherst Beer Festival. Who's signing up and who wants to wager their bottles?

As long it doesn't cost 60 dollars to sign up, I'm in!

I'm on the fence. Is the beer festival worth the trip from MKE?

does anyone have the specifics on this thing?

i'm signining up for the run but haven't heard details on admission price for the festival. is it going to be one ticket gets you entry and then free from there? tickets for each sample? cash for samples/glasses?

You shouldn't try so hard to stand out in the crowd at beer event.

That would be like wearing Abercrombie and Fitch to a frat party.

Midnight tonight is when the "early registration discount" ends. I want to do this to get the beer....but ultimately i'm going for the Black Gold bottles that they are selling at 1pm. I've never been to a beer release at CW. Does anyone know if I do the run...will i be in line in time to get my hands on some Black Gold?

run starts at 10. fest starts at 12. Black Gold sale starts at 1.

no clue about lines. there doesn't seem to be a lot of buzz/hype around this one.

last year there were several hundred people in the building but i think it was mostly supporters of the charity, runners and locals. not sure on the ratio of beer geeks to non-beer geeks.

I figure as long as you're in line by noon or so it shouldn't be too hard to get a bottle.
