Also, I had a bottle of Backwoods Bastard and CW BBSA a day apart and was kind of surprised how similar they are. Backwoods had a little more depth in the flavor but I don't know if I could pick one over another in a blind taste test.

Drink 'em side by side....you will tell the difference, guaranteed.

BBSA isn't even in the same neighborhood as Backwoods Bastard IMO. But that's just like, my opinion, man.

Backwoods is certainly more complex IMO but CW BBSA is still a damn good BBSA. Shaggin in the Wood was great fresh but it really turns into bland, very mediocre scotch ale after a couple of months aging. I got a case from Ri0 when it came out and now I'm working on finishing up a few last bottles becasue it did not age well at all. 12' Backwoods is still drinking pretty good, though I do prefer it fresh. Based on those two, I'm guessing that CW BBSA will be better enjoyed fresh.

While this may be true, I can't go out and buy a case of BWB. I have to scramble for a 4pk. I really enjoy this BBSA.
Peruvian Morning isn't on the same block as KBS, but hell if I don't love it for what it is.

Not sure about Peruvian Morning (if anyone does they would) but Ridgeview Liquor in Green Bay just got the Scotch Ale in. It's on the way up and wouldn't be far out of your way. I wouldn't bank on any place in Door County having it.

Anyways, I believe Discount Liquor in Milwaukee has all 3.

If you do stop in Green Bay I would guess Ridgeview would have both the Brewhouse Coffee and the BBSA. I got the Coffee there a week ago I think. They have scotch ale as someone said two posts up.

I drank my last Backwoods about two months ago so I won't even try to compare them, but I was really surprised at how much I really enjoyed this, as well as how drinkable it was (while I agree that the base gets kinda lost in the barrel/bourbon flavors, I didn't find it remotely "hot" or whatever at all). Definitely going to have to go out and pick up another 4-pack to age, interested in how it ages.

Yes, Ridgeview does have the non BA coffee stout for sure.
