Has this come and gone already? One place I tried said they sold out and another said not coming in until January? This years batch is aged 12 months instead of 6. I'm anxious to try it.

I have heard it is amazing from a Wisconsin friend, I would hope that we will see as much as last year.

Saw it at Cellars in woodbury. Bit of a bummer its 14 bucks this year, but still cheaper then almost any Bourbon stout available

I have heard it is significantly better this time around.

Thanks. I'll try the Cellars close to me. I read it went up $2-$3 a four pack this year.

Thought I saw somewhere that this years batch was aged a year in the barrels rather than 6 months from previous years, if that's the case the price increases is totally justified.

    Probably from the original post?

I bought a single and thought it was very good, although I thought last years was very good as well. In that regards its a bit dissapointing that it cost 25% more. Be nice if more breweries put out affordable 4pks of barrel aged/higher ABV stuff.

It is too bad about the price; Central Waters 4 packs were the best, most affordable barrel-aged options around by a wide margin. But I'll still buy them. Which I guess is the point.

To the OP, the distribution has been weird. I called several places in the south metro Friday & none of them had received it yet, but some places in the north rec'd it earlier in the week. One beer guy told me that the holidays had hosed up the delivery schedules, so I'd assume it'll trickle out in the next week or so.

Husdon had a ton of it when i was over there on Saturday-13.99. Also had the Barley Wine, same price.
I grabbed a bottle of Bourbon Coffee Mint though, as it was always a favorite. Like the last round of bottles, not much in the way of bourbon, or coffee, but plenty of mint! Interesting buy, priced about right at 5.79 too.

Of course it would be right in front of me and not in the others I was looking through.

Think of drinking an Andes Mint, but with way more mint. A mint bomb if you will. No coffee or bourbon unfortunately.

Sid's in Plymouth had both BBS & Y2K for $12.75. There wasn't much left.

I just tried this recently, and as noted above, it is definitely a mint bomb! I think it weighs in around 6%, so not in the range you'd usually expect for a bourbon barrel beer, and i really didn't taste much bourbon either. A very interesting beer - it's in the "glad i tried it, but probably won't seek it out again" category for me.

I'll pump the local (to me) shops...

DeVine Liquors in River Falls has a good selection of craft. They tend to have beers that sell out quickly in Hudson longer because of less local (RF) demand. They have a limited amount of the CW BBS and Barleywine right now, but can't remember what I paid for it. They had been getting their shipments from the distributor about two days after Hudson shops, so keep that in mind.

Dick's also has a decent selection, but not as good as DeVine IMO.

Also, if you head down to RF (10 min south of Hudson), swing by Junior's for a beer. They've got a great selection of taps and bottles, and great food.

(I don't work for either place I mentioned. I just wanted to plug their businesses and let you guys know about options if you can't find what you are looking for in Hudson.)

Really?! I was actually over there Sunday and was even on the look for it. Huge overlook on my part! Unless it was all sold out by then of course.

Ended up having a buddy in Madison pick me up some. Four 4-packs for $52 with tax. So must be $12ish over there. Or about half what I paid for BCBS.

I had this on tap in Madison at the Old Fashioned last week for $4 a pint (viva Wisconsin!). It was insanely good.
