Ceramic Flip-Tops

    How well do these hold up compared to their glass counterpart? I have one that formerly housed St. Sebastiaan Grande Reserve that I've used 4x now, and was curious how long these have lasted for others.

    I have an old German euro style ceramic flip top growler that I got in '99. Been using it to bottle condition since about four years ago, only problem I had was the rubber seal had to be replaced.

    How do you know if it's clean or if it has a layer of scum built up on the bottom of the inside?

    I have some that were used and I have been using them for almost 4 years. No problems at all. Just wash/sterilize like you would any other
