We just goofing. Cerebral is part of the group that comes in for the Robot Librarian brews, so we’ve collabed before. We’ve been planning to do a 1:1 collab at Cerebral for a while but it hasn’t happened yet.

Garrett Oliver used to be a pretty regular BA poster but he hasn't been on in a long time. At least not very often.
Greg from Stone occasionally hops on to bicker with people in the German forum. A couple higher ups at Victory and SN do, too.

I know 500ml for 22oz pricing is the new thing, but I'm not on board. Sure mention Fair Market Value if you want, but people overpay for all kinds of things, that doesn't mean I have to follow.
As much as I enjoy many of Cerebral's stout offerings, the rapid increase in pricing, both bottle and tap room, has been keeping me away. Which is a shame since I work 2 blocks away and stopping in on a Friday night after shift was enjoyable, minus the no parking.
I get it, making a profit is a business' primary goal, but unfortunately that leaves me out.
Judging by the crowds on Fridays nights, my paltry $30 won't be missed. But I just can't justify paying BA beer prices for non-BA beers.

Keep up the good work on the beers, they are are some delicious offerings.

Definitely within your right, but they do make beers other than stouts....

Definitely appreciate the feedback. Having only done 2 non barrel-aged Stout offerings in bottles so far our pricing is far from fixed. Peace Be The Journey was an expensive Stout but the coffee for that beer was custom roasted and cost 6x more than the coffee we buy from local roasters (and we used a lot of it). Safe Word was $1 less but included tons of hand toasted coconut and cacao nibs. We'll continue to evaluate our pricing model on a beer to beer basis in order to ensure we aren't charging more for beers that don't cost us as much to make. That said we do not use extracts when brewing these beers (with the exception of Work From Home, which is supplemented with maple extract) and the real thing costs more than a tiny bit of extract.

I appreciate the response. My intent wasn't just to complain, but to inform. I've given my view as a consumer. If you say that's what needs to be charged to keep the lights on, then that's what needs to be done.
I'll still keep my eye out for any upcoming big stouts/porters.

Hey guys, we're releasing 3 brand new beers as well as cans of Rare Trait this Friday. Here are the details:

Limit: (3) 4-packs per beer per person and 3 bottles of Under the Stars per person.

    The Beers:

Rare Trait (6.4%) - Our house IPA is a showcase of the finest flavor & aroma hops we could get our hands on, featuring powerful notes of tangerine, mango, and candied peach with restrained bitterness.
    $16/4-pack

Plate Tectonics (7.1%) - IPA brewed with oats and spelt, hopped with Simcoe, Topaz and Mosaic Lupulin Pellets.
    $16/4-pack

Schedule Conflict (7.0%) - Brewed in honor of the newest addition to the Cerebral family, this DDH IPA was dry-hopped at a ridiculous rate with Galaxy, Vic Secret, El Dorado and Ella.
    $18/4-pack

Under the Stars (12.5%) - Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Mikerphone Brewing. Imperial S'mores Stout brewed with mashmallow, graham cracker, cacao nibs, vanilla and lactose.
    $14/bottle

Doors open @ 12pm. We will be selling from the table in the corner until the line dies down and then sales will move to the bar. All 4 beers will also be available on tap. No Crowlers. Adobo Food Truck will be out front slingin’ their delicious tacos and bowls starting @ 4pm.

Forever Awake is on the horizon.
Frankly last time I had FA, I liked it more than the significantly more expensive, Peace Be Thy Journey.
But I see FA bottles are following the priceline, ie BA bottle pricing for a non-BA beer.
I might stop in for a taste, but I'm out on the bottle pricing.
Most likely this is simply the new reality and future, so I'll permanently bow out.
I'll stick with the 22oz $14 BA Imp Stouts from Dry Dock
