Before I try to post up my entire cellar to try to get this one, I want to know what it is going to take to land one. Any year is fine although I have hear the 2012 is liked more. I think its going to end up being myself and a couple other BAs here putting our cellars together to land this for a stout tasting in January. Would things like Beat b5, CBS, Vintage Gratitude, Sour Reserve or Upland Lambics be somewhere in the area?
Are your 'gots' up to date? I have 2012 and 2013 that I wasn't looking to trade (was trying to make a vert, have 1/2 given up though), but then again...everything has it's price I guess...
I'd think your Sour Reserve would probably go 1:1. Also, I'd prioritize tracking down a CFH 2012 over a CFH 2013.
This. I wish I had my Vanilla back after drinking CFH 13. Wouldn't put it anywhere near top BA stouts IMO....
Yeah, I've had CFH '13 twice now, and still have another one in the cellar. I was hoping the flavors would all come together since it was so boozy fresh but unfortunately the one I had about three weeks ago was still drinking hot....more time I suppose. Probably will open the last on at 4-Elf just as I did with my last 2012 CFH.
Good to know the consensus on the 12 vs 13. I was told about that previously. I guess I should post an ISO for the 12 and see what bites.
Or you could have simply checked the BA scores. 2012 has a rAvg: 4.56, 2013 has a rAvg: 4.49. The "consensus" is that the 2012 is better by .07 points. I've had both several times and the notion that the 2012 is much better than the 2013 is nonsense.
And that's where I was originally informed. However, I'm willing to take the advice from people who have had it. So far it's 5:1 in favor of 2012.
