I've tasted this one several times. And I have had different reactions. Some times it was a bit flat, some times more carbonated.
One of our sales folks told us that Weyerbacher is going through a revamp and making some changes to Insanity.
I dont know when, It may already have happened, I am curious if anyone else has heard about this.

Yeah maybe a little different than in the past but they are relatively small operation still and I don't really think complete consistency is something to expect.. Definitely very good this latest batch, has a lot of the dark fruit characteristics of almost like a Quad..

I've also noticed that insanity evolves quickly and is never that great when it's fresh, I always let mine sit a minimum of 6 months before opening. The reason I think it matures so quickly is that I've had multiple bottles from the same vintage at different intervals, sometimes less than a two weeks apart, and have never had the same experience with the beer. For me the beer is hit or miss and when it's on it's on and when it's off it's still drinkable but I always like the surprise.

I don't have much experience with it. I bought a lot of it last year (first time having it) and even more this year. Like jtierney89, I have also noticed that it develops quite quickly. I haven't done a side-by-side with the two vintages, but for what it's worth, I think the current batch is really good.

Lasts years was great but I feel this years is a lil sweet with not as deep bourbon notes.
