Anyone ever tried this UK produced pilsner?
Huge accolades from this year's International Beer Competition but being the IBC I'm not exactly bidding for it on ebay.
Be curious of any informed viewpoints.

I'd give it a go if I ever saw it in a shop (£1.49 single bottle price according to the website). I'm fairly sceptical though, as in my book there's only a certain level of "good" you can get from a beer, especially from a lager.

They do a porter and an IPA though too.

    Evidently you've never had Tipopils.

Yup, I've had it - it's actually rather nice. It's hopped with NZ varieties, particularly Nelson Sauvignon, so it has an interesting aromatic white grape & melon sort of flavour. Not sure I'd personally consider it the best lager ever, but it's miles ahead of macro stuff. I guess my ideal lager would conform more closely to a true pilsner (hopped with noble varieties).

It is (or was) available in Waitrose, that's where I got mine. They introduced it within the last year or so....

    I have not.

Apparently one of the main differences is that it uses champagne yeast too.
