Hi guys, hope this kinda post is allowed if not please close. Looks like I am set for a little mini road trip with my wife from Philly area down to downtown Charleston SC for couple days then downtown Savannah GA for couple days. We are looking for suggestions from the locals about places we should eat/drink. We are planning a visit to Westbrook as far as breweries (and possibly stop by Duck Rabbit in NC along the way). As far as food/drinks, could anyone offer up some suggestions as far as the best place to check out for...

    1. Best fried chicken in Charleston as well as Savannah?
    2. Best local southern food in Charleston and Savannah?
    3. Any other misc awesome food/restaurant place that is a must try while there.

I wanted to check out Paula deans restaurant but I heard mixed things about the food and experience there.

    Thanks

Edmonds past in charleston for overall

Justines downtown charleston is probably the best for southern food.

Dixie supply and the grocery are good spots for chicken too.

Skip duck rabbit and get straight to charleston.

Edmund's Oast is an amazing spot, but go ahead and make reservations early!

Best Fried chicken is Martha Lou's. Trust a local.

best fried chicken is usaully at a meat and two sides place, martha lous counts for that

would hit Holy City over Westbrook, also you can do Coast which is in pretty close proximity.

    Craftsman downtown.

Unfortunately, we are extremely limited in brewpubs, I am told we have three, but one is undrinkable, the second sometimes has a beer, and the third is Edmunds Oast which has lots of beers on tap so you may get distracted from their house beers.
