I know the BA MC release is all the focus now but I will be in Charleston for a short time (16-17 July) and was wondering what Coast and Westbrook offerings were still available at CBX or other spots. Wouldn't mind doing an IP trade for some 32/50, regular MC, WWB and/or Gose as well as other tasty bombers. Replies either here or in a BM would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to all those headed for the BA release. Hope it's not a shitshow like it sounds like it will be.

Thanks for the inventory link. The bombers I listed were ones I would trade for if they were not currently available. Thanks again.

I'll be there on Sat, and to be honest the shrimp and grits tops the brews.

Charleston is an up and coming beer town (as well as my favorite). As for shrimp and grits, no other place comes remotely close (well maybe Savannah).

Should be able to have some fresh DC Brau OTWOA if anyone is interested in an IP trade.

Check out the James Island Piggly Wiggly for a badass growler selection. Got Even More Jesus and Mexican Cake growlers there a couple months ago.

You must be high (assuming of course you are not SEVERELY mentally handicapped). Grits, aka wallpaper paste suck ass. I'd take bud light over grits any day. Now the shrimp are tasty, though it's a crime to judge them on some equivalent lump of paper mill spooge.

Lol, take a poll on Charleston grits see which way it slides, bet you lose. Not sure what shrimp any grits you mean, but you know being from SC it's not breakfast grits right. It's spicy and savory, some places makes you sweat a little. If you prefer Bud Light it says a lot about your dead palate.

I'm taking this as more an indictment of the lackluster tap lists at many restaurants that the quality of the available beers in Charleston. A lot of places (especially downtown) are tourist spots and so they carry a lot of BMC products since people from all of the country who don't give two shits about beer will feel safe ordering them.

Guessing you're not from Charleston. If so, then God save your soul for such blasphemy! Real grits are a beautiful thing, not the instant crap.

I'm from Pittsburgh, not Charleston. But, I've been there a few times (love the place!) and would recommend a stop at the South End Brewery (http://southendbrewery.com/) if you want a couple fresh brews while you are there. I go there every time I'm in town.

Grits is high art. Making bland roughage tasty needs country ham, spice, sometimes assembled shrimp, plus a deft touch. Grits mixed with eggs over easy, country ham, biscuits, while coming off of a night in the woods- or town- is probably a genetic thing by now. At least the Confederacy didn't come in third! Shrimp and grits ain't my favorite, but it don't suck, as they say.

Before or after you go to Hyman's?

In reference to rgordon, and the point I was drunkenly trying to make is that it's the ham, spices or shrimp that taste good, not the grits.

Josh, you know I'm not from Charleston, but I do have a penchant for blasphemy.

NC41, you know nothing of my palate. I do think lawnmower beer has a place, but in those cases I do prefer the corn of Miller to AB's rice. I used Bud Light as a example of something really bland. At least BL does have alcohol. If you're in a foul mood, eating a metric shit ton of grits (unless it has the aforementioned ham/spice/shrimp) is far less likely to mitigate your mood than lawnmower beer. I do use 'less likely' since everyone is different and despite how much we may enjoy it, alcohol is obviously not a panacea.
