playing in a golf tourney in Kiawah in March and based on flight schedule looks like I am going to have to stay an extra night on Sunday (I know there could be worse things or places to have a free night) been to Charleston once maybe 10-12 years ago and know I want to stay somewhere near city center, etc.

I reviewed the places on line and obviously lots of great places to eat and drink and I'll figure that out but bigger question in where to go beer shopping, etc. Are SC beer and liquor places open on Sunday afternoons ? Last time I was in SC they had such weird liquor laws I couldn't tell what was going on ! Seems like Charleson Beer Exchange is a must see and trying to find Coastal beers would be highly recommended.
Any local Charlestonian or experienced visitors insight would be much appreciated.
Feel free to shoot me an e-mail message on the site if you'd rather share privately.
Really appreciate any assistance and guidance for my 24 hr hall pass in Charleston.

Westbrook brewery will be closed Sunday, holy city might be open... Check out coast while you are there as well... Best bet is the charleston beer exchange or a total wine if you can find one, not sure if there's a greens discount beverage there either...

As far as bars go I think edans ( or edmuns) oast, not sure how you say it is finally open down by the markets as well ... Just check on here for other high rated places down there, or stop at the beer exchange and ask the staff there

No liquor stores on Sundays, but most of the beer stores are open (the beer exchange aka CBX opens at noon I believe). Liquor and beer retail operations are separate in SC, so places like Bottles and Total Wine should be open for beer sales (if you choose to venture out of downtown, likely no reason if you hit CBX). Edmunds Oast is the place that Gr1mmy77 is referring to... owned by the guys that own CBX, and will almost certainly become the go to brewpub in CHS (and I could see it becoming THE hub for downtown craft beer aficionados). Opening is delayed, but I would expect it to be open by March. A must visit IMO.

    If you haven't seen http://chsbeer.org/, it's a solid resource.

If you want some more tailored recommendations, I'm happy to provide my personal opinions.

    Cheers!

There is an Egan's on Cumberland (by craftsmen and a block south if the market) that just opened, Edmunds oast, which will be open by then (and originally slated to be egans oast after an old timey tavern keeper ) is up north of the bridge near tatooed moose.
