Charlotte for Business

If you are looking for food unique-ish to Charlotte and good beer, then Macs Speedshop (bbq) could be your answer

 

Macs is great for both beer and bbq and good bottle shop is right across the street. one of my favorite places in Charlotte is good food on Montford. Great food! Just up the road from there is duckworths and another minute away is Brawleys. Another great place is the custom shop but not sure of any places near there to get good beer. Cheers

 

What styles do you usually go for?

 

Event horizon is on the shelves now and is stellar, hop drop n roll is a solid ipa. you can snag some wicked weed sours. a new batch of oblivion is out that i really enjoy.

 

Hdr, Event Horizion, Total Wine here still has Lindley Park, Westbrook is coming, a short drive to SC. Jade is around, as well as January ipa.

 

Seconding Event Horizon. Enjoying the Trippel from Triple C as well.

 

If you can spend a night walking around, absolutely get out of the city and get to the NoDa district...short for North Davidson...the artsy fartsy part of town. Many good restaurants all with craft beers on tap within a couple blocks of 36th and N.Davidson. A couple breweries nearby. Maybe start at NoDa brewery which is around 22nd St. for a Coco Loco and Hop, Drop and Roll. Not sure if train goes that way so a taxi ride is needed. Revolution Ale House has great pizza and over 40 beers on tap. Have fun.

 

Definitely hit Salud bottleshop while you're in NODA.

 

Birdsong jalapeno ipa is good, NoDa and birdsong are across the parking lot from each other...

 

I agree with the NoDa & Birdsong sentiment. They only have food trucks, so ending the night at Heist Brewery ~10 blocks away would be a solid night. Only buses go to NoDa, so try Uber.

 

@Jmhildebrand if you're going to go to NoDa then go to Salud. I think it's the best bottle shop in Charlotte, but Good Bottle and Brawleys are the other two bottle shops in town. Then of course you've got Total Wine, but Salud is awesome. They always have great beer on tap as well while you're hunting. I was in there yesterday, and they've got Oblivion, Genesis and I believe Black Angel for sours. Lusus Naturae is there too, which is a wild DIPA I believe, but it's delicious. There are probably a couple of other WW sours there as well.

 

Salud for sure, not far from NoDa and Birdsong.

Some evenings at Salud, there are bottle shares the break out, have several friends that make it over there to bring a bottle or 2 and enjoy what someone else has brought...

Currently under renovation I think, so plastic cups until that is complete...
