Have one night in the Charlotte area. Where should I go? Looking for a taproom ideally that has decent food.
Actually haven't made a reservation yet. Will ultimately be picking up an order around the I495 & 74 exit. But can stay anywhere. Is there a preferred area of town or hotel?
Can't help with where to go as it's been years for me but stay somewhere near the rail system. Called Lynx and runs pretty late into the night. Goes right through Charlotte connecting people to North and South of the city. There's a lot of breweries right along the rail system and a day pass is only $7 or $8 I believe. Could make a nice evening without you having to drive and find parking all over town if you plan to make multiple stops. if you are into German beer and food maybe try Olde Mecklenburg?
Olde Mecklenburg is great for German beer and is within a few minutes driving to half a dozen other breweries including Gilde if you want to continue with the German beer. in the same area is Brewers at 4001 Yancy which is a combination of Victory, Sixpoint and Southern Tier beer, plus hard cider from Bold Rock Hard Cider. if you are on the north side in the NoDa area there is NoDa brewing, Birdsong, Heist, and a handful of restaurants with good beer lists
I'll also add Legion to the list. There's also a Burial Taproom that I think is in the NoDa neighborhood
The main taproom for Heist will reopen soon this Spring after being shut for two years due to a fire. Prior to the fire, it offered what I considered to be the best combination of food and beer in the Charlotte market. Heist Brewery is finally reopening in NoDa - Axios Charlotte
