    Hello fellow BAs-

It's that time of the year again... Oktoberfest! This event here in Charlotte has always a great festival. With so many tasty local NC brews, Southeast breweries and beers from across the US in attendance; this should be another great fest.

I can't wait to see what Highland brewing and Old Hickory have in store. I was really hoping Westbrook brewing would be present, but they aren't listed on the site.

Anyone else heading to this event? Which beer(s) and breweries are you most looking toward to?

Hope everyone has fun and safe day.

    Cheers.

Anybody hanging out at a bar tonight? I've got Hunahpu's, Zhukov, and other CCB beers to share and/or trade.

As always, there were some great homebrews there. And as always, I regret that I couldn't try everything.

If I had to pick three favorites from yesterday, I'd go with Four Saints St. Augustine Jalapeno Rauchbier, NoDa Brewing's Gordgeous and the Free Range / Birdsong collaboration, Rice, Rice Baby. That last one was a rice-milk stout, and it was incredible. I'm so looking forward to what Free Range can do here in Charlotte.

Had a great time there yesterday. Did anyone see boulevard? I was there for 5 hours and couldnt find them. Had a could homebrews that were fantastic. Loved the Mother Earth Silent Night, Olde Hickory Orion and Birdsong Jalapeno Pale ale. Cant wait for next year.

I really enjoyed the Rice, Rice Baby as well--especially since it's vegan!

If I remember correctly, Boulevard didn't have its own tent but was being poured by a retailer. Tank 7 was undercarbonated, and Double Wide tasted off to me.

Home Brewers Alley was awesome, we spent a good amount of time there.

some fantastic beers; and other than a little bit of rain it was a great time.

I was a little disappointed that Westbrook wasn't represented...

Westbrook doesn't distribute to NC yet

Neither does Holy City. Distribution here does not always determine whether they'll be pouring.

Oh yeah, I know that. I helped get some kegs of COAST to NC for an event, as I cover the Rock Hill area.
