I'm just curious about the availability of tasty and reasonably priced quads. I've ran a train or two on some bottles lists at bars and spent lots of cash in the past but I don't see or notice many 4-6 packs of quads in stores. My main go to lately is Boulevards Sixth Glass and occasionaly three philosopher's. Anyone have reccomendationz that won't break the bank?

What do you mean by "cheap". Chimay Blue and St. B's 12 both cost about. $12.00 a 750 i find that reasonable.

    I love Victory V-Twelve. I think it's around $9 for a 750 but it's worth it imho.

I suggest 3 philosophers as well. One of my favorite readily available quads.

That is reasonable but I think 9.99-10.99 for a 4 pack of Sixth Glass is a steal.

Eh, you're going to have to dish out a bit more for decent quads. The best price:quality quads are 4-packs of St. Bernardus 12 and Cuvee van de Keizer Blauw. Neither is going to be cheap, but if there's a quad that's $10/sixer out there, I don't want to try it.

Where's your sense of morbid curiosity?

I work in an ER--my morbid curiosity is satisfied enough there. I'm no longer curious about overly sweet, thick, and boozy American quads.

Edit: I will say that Sixth Glass was surprisingly good. It's a bit light for a quad, but still quite tasty. If I lived in Boulevard's distribution range, I'd definitely purchase it often.

I've seen a disgusting pic or two taken by an ER doctor in my day so say no more.

The best Quad value of all time was Sweetwater's BSP Quad -- $5.99 for 22oz. Unfortunately, it was a one-time release about 2 years ago.

As far as stuff that's on the shelves now, Ommegang's Three Philosophers is a good buy. I also find the Trappist Quads to be reasonably priced, especially considering that they're some of the best beers on the planet.

St. Bernardus abt 12 is reasonably priced for being the real deal. Ommegang 3 Philosophers is well-priced, available, and in 4-packs.

I personally prefer Three Philosophers over St. Bernardus Abt 12, but that's just me..
