Check my math

    I need 6 AAU of Magnum at 20% AA. I'm getting .3 oz If I'm wrong give me the equation. Actually give me the equation anyways...Please. I didn't really use any particular equation.

    That's pretty much right. AAU (or HBUs) are basically just alpha acids x ounces (e.g. 6 AAU is 1 oz @ 6%, or .5 oz @ 12%, or .33 oz @ 18%, or 2 oz @ 3%, and so on. Just a simple way to account for variances in AAs from year to year.

    Thanks, just checking. First time I've figured it out or even cared to. I always just added the amount in a recipe without checking %AA's.
