Larry Sidor from Dechutes and Olympia and my friend Paul Evers opened up a new brewery in Bend, OR. They opened their doors on June 30. I'm not sure what types of beers they are specializing in, but I'm sure beers with Brett and barrel aging will a part of the program.

I'm sure you all know. But I'm just putting it out there again.

Larry is a good family friend. I was down there helping set things up over Memorial Day weekend, and my parents were there for the grand opening. I hope they continue with their initial success.

I found it kind of funny he came out saying he wanted to do stuff like "Dark Lord and PtY" and came out with a pale ale a week after opening... I know its a business move but just seemed funny.

Beers like Dark Lord and PtY take time. The Pale only took a few weeks once they got approval to start brewing.

I've got a growler of Outcast IPA on it's way to me right now, will be enjoying it on Friday night for the Olympics opening ceremonies.
