I have 3 kegs, and a 3 way gas splitter. Do I need to buy a check valve for each keg to hook up to my gas QDs or am I fine with just one on the regulator? Would doing it at the regulator allow beer to flow back up the gas line into the splitter and back down the other lines into those kegs? Do they really matter as long as I don't have a long gas dip tube that goes into my beer? Thanks for the help.

I don't have check valves on any of my regulators/lines. I figure that unless I knock a keg over, the laws of physics will pretty much keep beer out of my regulators.

They arent real expensive so I don't see why you wouldn't personally but yeah it is probably unneeded. If your going to skip them i would just use clear line for gas as opposed to red that comes with some kits. I always like being able to see that there is no beer going up my lines.
